Katharine Parker Stell, 96, of Lenox, died on August 21, 2026, in Lenox, Massachusetts, surrounded by loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 15, 1930, and moved to Lenox in 2018 to be near her daughters. She had worked as a copywriter at the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency and was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Waltman Stell Jr., in 2011. Memorial services are private. Memorial donations may be made to Mass Audubon (Pleasant Valley/Berkshires) or Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church in Kensington, Maryland, per the family's wishes. Henry S. Simonds, 89, of Lenox, died Monday, August 31, 2026, at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Cranston, RI, on July 24, 1937. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked as a public-school teacher in Pittsfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Simonds, who died May 4, 2021. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery.
