Select Board · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Lenox Select Board approved National Grid's underground conduit upgrade after the utility apologized for a confusing notice letter. Community Engagement Lead Robert Eyde told residents "I sincerely wanted to apologize" for language that wrongly suggested new utility poles on Pine Knoll, Delafield and Old Barn roads; design engineer Adam Dion said the work uses directional drilling and will not disturb driveways. The board also unanimously approved a common victualer license for new Thai restaurant Siam Sip and a liquor license manager change to Wen Zhao Chen at Panda House Restaurant.
Town Manager Jay Green previewed a 12-article November 5 Special Town Meeting warrant that includes accepting donated land from Beacon Bank for EV chargers, a $50,000 fire pumper repair, roughly $300,000 in free cash for road paving, and a request for standing Select Board authority to accept utility easements without a town meeting vote through June 2027. Library Director Kathy O'Neal reported 75 percent of survey respondents visit the library monthly or more under its new strategic plan, themed "Joy awaits."
